Still Lost

Lately I have been feeling really lost. I don't really know what to do in regards to my kung fu. I know I just got a get down and make a plan on how I will accomplish things but at the same time I don't even really know where to start on changing things. Which is half why I have been pulling away more and more because I don't even know where to start. I feel like I have just been taking the easy way out, by distancing myself. Which inevitably is just making things harder and more obvious. I want to tell you guys I have a plan and I know where to go from here but I don't. I don't even know where to start. But I am here, writing this blog because I know were still a team.  push ups - 1747 Sit ups - 1052 Hand form - 37 Weapon - 30 Kilometers - 99 Aok - 244 Blogs - 14 + 1 Sparring - 63 Personal :  outside walks - 7 stretching plan - 0 strengthening plan - 0

Lost

Lately I have sort of disappeared. Like I haven't been blogging, I have missed a few classes(I have gotten a little sick recently..). I feel like I am letting the team down. And honestly I haven't been doing much to change that. Like I want to get back, I want to do things, I have just been struggling. People always say 'make a plan' but I seem to not even know where to start. I get extremally overwhelmed and crash even more. Even writing this, I have been trying for a week now. I just don't know how to get the words out. I know I just have to get down and do things but with battling my mental health I find I get really overwhelmed because I just think of the whole problem and not just a small part. I know this blog is really negative and doesn't have a positive twist. I seem to hyper-fixate on the negative(which is something I have been trying to work on for a while now... I'm going to sit down and work on a solution, and will have another blog out by the e...

Tiger Challenge

I know this blog is a little late but I wanted to blog about the tiger challenge. The tiger challenge went pretty much how I expected competition wise. But I'm going to start with the judging. I ended up judging the one group I didn't want to do... But it ended up being a lot of fun and I really enjoyed myself. I was worried when they were doing the sparring but overall it was a great experience. As for my own tournament it was a lot of fun. I was hoping I could get gold but I'm really happy with how things went in the end!!! I loved watching how everyone went. I'm really proud I joined and I'm proud of everyone else who went! Overall a great day with some great insights.  push ups - 1617 Sit ups - 1052 Hand form - 37 Weapon - 30 Kilometers - 87 Aok - 234 Blogs - 12 + 1 Sparring -63 Personal :  outside walks - 5 stretching plan - 0 strengthening plan - 0

Sparring

I really like sparring. But more specifically point sparing. I like the concept of being able to look for the openings. Last Kao shi class we did sparring, and I sparred with a few people I don't normally spare with which was cool! I liked the change in styles people have. When I spare I try and really get into the moment and really focused on little things that will allow me to find the openings. I know I'm not the best at sparring but that doesn't waver how much I like it.  push ups - 1553 Sit ups - 1052 Hand form - 37 Weapon - 30 Kilometers - 75 Aok - 215 Blogs - 11 + 1 Sparring - 35 Personal :  outside walks - 5 stretching plan - 0 strengthening plan - 0

Tai Chi

Over my journey with tai chi I have always been tight to my body. This has causes some struggles as I keep improving as there as some moves that I need to open up more then I was originally comfortable with. This has helped me realize and try and open up more. Which is hard to break old habits but I think I'm moving in the right direction. There are a LOT of places where you can dive deeper and really focuses on so much. Which is something I tend to over do? Like focusing on things sometimes leads me down a rabbit hole. Which can sometimes lead to good but also bad sometimes because I get wrapped up in every little thing. But overall I think my tai chi is improving and I'm really happy with it.  push ups - 1553 Sit ups - 1052 Hand form - 27 Weapon - 30 Kilometers - 60 Aok - 195 Blogs - 10 + 1 Sparring - 15 Personal :  outside walks - 5 stretching plan - 0 strengthening plan - 0

Napping

I tend to nap a lot. I don't get the best sleep to begin with and with the naps it inevitable get worse. So here are some good and bad things about naps. When napping(and I'm talking about quick naps) you may often feel kind of groggy right when waking up but it typically goes away within 35 mins. But after this it may improve your alertness and make you less tired. It also improves your performance and reaction time as your not as tired. Although napping does have its downfall. If you nap for to long or take to may small naps you will probably experience trouble sleeping at night. This would include falling asleep or even staying asleep. Also, so research also links naps that are longer then an hour have a higher risk of conditions such as high blood pressure. etc. If you are deciding to nap, it says to only take 20-30 min naps and to not nap after 3pm as it would interfere with being able to sleep in the night.  https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/in-dep...

lion dancing

Saying I don't know what to blog about has always been the easier thing to say. But I feel like I mean it in a different way? Like I am constantly thinking about kung fu and aspects of it. I just don't really know how to put it into words? Like from my head into words is something I have struggled with. But I am going to give it a try... For lion dancing, I have been trying to crisp up my moves. Specifically the wave in the dance. I imagen when I'm doing the lower parts of the wave that I'm hiding, like I'm small and condensed and like I'm waiting to attack? Like I'm not trying to shy away, I'm trying to to make the tall parts more threatening? So into the tall parts, I try to reach up as high as I can and then pause there for a second sort of. Asserting my dominance, letting people know I am here and strong? The wave is one of my favorite moves in lion dancing. As I feel like if you do it right(for your lion) then it helps show what kind of lion you are...
