Release -
I have been trying to work on my release of energy throughout my Kung fu. In forms, in kicks, in applications, everything. I have found I really struggle with the release in kicks, I find I’m either pushing or just not the best technique. With the pushing I feel a sort of “block” of my energy as it’s not being released in the right way or at all. To try and fix this I have been trying to snap my kick more, but making sure I’m still using my hip to thrust it out. I think I started to merge thrusting and pushing in my kicks. This has been quite hard… Board breaking has really helped me realize that when I think I’m thrusting I actually am pushing most the time… but even though it has been harder to fix then you think, I do think I’m making progress even if it’s not as major as I would of hope.
