Working on new things

Over the last week I have been focusing on a new-ish kick. The flying spinning roundhouse, this kick has brought challenges and insights. 
I find I really have to warm up before throwing the kick, which I never did much before(I know that’s not good..). As well I have had to work on my timing of when to jump and when to actually throw the kick. This has been one of the biggest challenges with any of my flying kicks. As I think I’m throwing my kick late because I’m finishing my kick right before I land. Where as I want to kick at my apex. And it go in to more depth, when I kick I’m finding I have like no six harmony's… I don’t know how to get this besides just practice, practice, practice. And I think this is leading to other problems, like when I kick in the air(with no bag) I find I don’t feel that release so I keep over-extending. 
Over the last but I feel like I have really been taking my training into my own hands. Like I’m trying to focus and actually work on certain things that I want to improve on! And this has been helpful as I think if I benefit myself I will end up becoming better then I am now; then I can have a better understanding to teach! And on the note of teaching I am trying to take advantage of opportunity’s. Like if I get the opportunity to do a warm up or teach a portion of class(kids or adults) then I’m going to take it. And not wait for someone to just give it to me as a last resort. I want to improve and become better then I am now and that won’t happen if I don’t take a leap forward, and put myself into new situations. 
Also i mentioned a while back that I was struggling with kilometres and I still am. I don't know how to do it mindfully, like I walk to and from school every day. But I really wanna focus on doing it mindfully. If anyone has any suggestions on that please reach out. And this is the same problem with acts of kindness.

  1. I find what helps me be mindful when I’m walking is to pay attention to my surroundings. Find the new buds on flowers, or the clouds in the sky. Enjoy the air and the space. I also tend to do my best thinking in those moments, and get a sense of clarity.
    For the tracking of kilometers, map out what you would like to accomplish. Take new paths, and enjoy the wonders along the way. I can’t wait to get back to just taking a walk and not having to worry about being sore, or where I’m walking. Take a friend and just chat, you can still be mindful while doing that as well. These are a couple of thingss that help me 😊
