Pause?

Lately, I’ve noticed I’m in a bit of a pause point. I’m still training and improving my forms, but I’m feeling a little more distant than before. As I prepare for the big transition to post-secondary, and step back slightly from teaching, I can sense my connections shifting.

That said, I know how much kung fu has given me and I’ll always love it—it will always have a place in my life. I think I’m just looking for ways to bring back more lightness and fun into my training, so it feels less like pure effort and more like the joy it used to be. I’m confident that with a little change in approach, I can keep my passion strong and avoid feeling stuck.

I see this moment not as a setback, but as a turning point. This is a chance to refresh my perspective, try new approaches, and reconnect with the excitement that first drew me to kung fu. Every transition in life comes with an opportunity to grow in new ways—this one can be my launchpad for becoming an even more balanced, passionate, and adaptable martial artist.
