grateful

I have been trying to think of something to write for a while now and just cant seem to find anything. I'm going to try and just start typing as see if anything comes out. Lately I have been feeling extremely grateful for the people around me. Within kung fu, my friends, my family, my pets(my cat was sitting on me when I was writing this), and so many more people. My safe people. One of my friends is always on my side, not in the I'm always right way but in the whatever happens I'm on your side way. I find this extremely valuable as I always know if I need motivation or anything they have my back. How does this relate to kung fu? I'm still working on figuring that out more but one thing I do know is that every time I want to go to kung fu or practice they are willing to drive me or help me. This type of encouragement helps me keep going. I am extremally thankful for them.  Some of the team and people off the team always set time to do pushups and sit-ups with me. Like e...

Disappear

I have sort of disappeared on the blogs for the last month-ish. I could explain all the reasons for not blogging but I did have time where I could have blogged or even just posted my numbers. So I’m hoping(and will try) to start anew.  Blogging has always been a tough one for me. Last year and going into this one was probably my blogging times, as I would blog every week. I struggle with what to write because I often keep very closed off and to myself about my personal life.. like there is a lot of things that I rather keep separate from Kung fu as much as I can as Kung fu is makes me really happy and fulfilled.  I have also half fallen off of the wagon for training. I still go to my classes and make an effort to go to the little leopards as well as tai chi. The LL class has always been my favourite class to go and participate in. I feel like I can be myself bc little 3 year olds don’t really judge you😅. Aside from LL, tai chi and black belt class have been really good. I lik...

The little acts

These last few months I have been drifting from Kung fu.. It has just been feeling like another burden. But last Tuesday I was doing a form in black belt class, and wow. Like there were parts of the form which I new needed work but overall I just felt so cool. Like all the love for Kung fu came back. And just makes me want to practice and ask questions and work on things all over again.  Even through drifting from Kung fu, I have still been able to find little things to keep me engaged! Like for example when I see a certain black belt I will do 10 knuckle push-ups with him, and even though it’s just 10 it always keeps me going. And well doing these push-ups I have been working on my form and how I’m actually doing push-ups. Trying to analyze and figure out how to do them without popping out my elbow. As well another person from the team and I do 10 push-ups on the days I go into school(Monday, Tuesday, and Friday). This one has been a bit harder to keep up with but I am still doing...

love for tai chi

I have been making an effort to get back into doing tai chi and it has really been beneficial. I drifted a bit when school started. But I have been making plans ahead of time to be able to stay and participate in class. This last Wednesday during class I realized I could really feel my chi. I didn't feel like my mind was somewhere else. I also didn't feel any sort of new pain. It just felt really good. I also think I made some good progress in the long tai chi form. When I do tai chi it makes me step back and just breathe which is a nice break from being stressed and running around. And just my love for kung fu grows stronger when I start to intertwin it with tai chi.  push ups - 1685 Sit ups - 1659 Hand form - 305 Weapon - 275 Kilometres - 962 Aok - 715 Blogs - 31 +1 Sparring - 125 Personal :  Gratitude - 10 Journaling - 14 Keeping room clean - still needing to clean my room... Shifting

Over the last while I have been missing kung fu, I had to miss a few classes due to having school work and just changing perspectives. But yesterday I was able to attend tai chi and I am so thankful that I decided to go. From not be able to go over the last little bit I was sort of nervous to 'come back' because I was kind of scared of what people would think. But in retro-spectre I shouldn't have been nervous because this is my journey and it doesn't necessarily matter what others think.  Over the last month-ish, I have been practicing/focusing on shifting weight. Like in tai chi I shift forward and backwards quite slowly and I am able to feel where in my body the weight is going, like through my leg down to my foot(but in more detail , I normally have more weight in the ball of my foot when shifting forward. But when shifting back I found my weight goes straight down my leg into my heal.  This has developed into more insights in my training. When doing a kung fu form ...

Starting school, again

This week I started post secondary, which has been a change from the summer. I was quite stressed and overwhelmed. And I slightly, probably more then, over panicked on the first day. But I feel like I have adjusted well, and I'm sort of getting the hang of my new routine. Some days are harder but I always try to end them in more of a positive mindset, like just feeling accomplished or proud of what I have achieved. I  have also come to realize that I don’t have any more free days. Like I am either working, at school, or studying. This has been harder because I went from all my days being free to none of them. Having a lot less free time has greatly affected my Kung fu, as I’m not attending the adult classes anymore(I will prob occasionally but not for now.) and those classes were when I would get to think deeper on my Kung fu. I find by the time Kung fu roles around I am already extremely exhausted. But I know it’s just the first week and once I get more of the hang of my current s...

relaxing

This last week was filled with highs and lows. I got the opportunity/chances to help clean during the back to school week. I got to help out with painting the lions and cleaning one of the closets, and well it doesn't sound so exciting it was nice being able to give back to the school in a way. But overall it was extremally fun and relaxing, plus I got to interact and connect with the people that were there when I was. Then Thursday was the potato bake, it was a lot of fun playing games and being able to joke around with others who I normally train with. It helped me feel more grounded as I have been quite stressed with going back to school, starting tomorrow(Tuesday). I'm scared for the unexpected, so there is not much I can do besides preparing and trying to relaxes. And participating in events like the back to school week, or even just attending classes helps me relax. push ups - 1650 Sit ups - 1615 Hand form - 297 Weapon - 275 Kilometres - 882 Aok - 645 Blogs - 28 +1 Sparri...
